WHERE I STAND
Real is rarer than it seems.
I spend my life looking for it.
I write about art, travel, food, culture, history, and whatever else has my attention. I care about things that hold meaning, whether that's a painting that makes you want to live inside it, a family tradition passed down by generations, or a city the crowds have't found yet. I love the real thing and I can't stand a cheap copy. And just because something is new, popular, or expensive doesn’t make it good. This is where I sort out the difference.
About
Michael-Chase Strollo is a communications strategist and founder based in Tampa. He grew up in Atlanta and started his career in uniform.
In the U.S. Army National Guard he served as a Military Police officer and public relations representative, handling communications for soldiers and their families. Later, as a civilian contractor, he worked as Media Operations Officer for U.S. Central Command, including an assignment in Riyadh.
He has worked in government affairs, digital media and public sector communications since. Today he handles communications and government relations for Manatee County Government and directs communications for Vital Tech Services. He founded FINDR Technologies, which audits and manages location data for governments and municipalities.
In art, he spent years advising private clients at Dash Fine Arts. He founded the Strollo Family Foundation, which lends works from its collection to museums and colleges at no cost. He sits on the Pride and Passion committee at the Tampa Museum of Art and serves as the Deputy Director of Sponsorship for Women in Defense Greater Tampa Bay.
